Designed for domestic and foreign operations where maximum firepower needs to be discreetly carried, the DSD from DeSantis is the answer. This rig allows the user to carry a SMG as well as an additional 2 full-sized magazines all the while presenting no visible weapons. Both hands of the security agent are free to open doors, manipulate crowds and direct the assigned principal's direction. The rig features a "quick-detach" system that allows for rapid disengagement of the weapon from the rig if an extended incident engagement occurs. The rig is easily concealed under a wind breaker or mid-length jacket. The rig is mainly made from heavy duty Mil-Spec nylon webbing and is built to be comfortable and durable. It will work with most sub-machine guns and is equipped with a magazine pouch for either 9mm or .223; please specify when ordering. The rig can be configured with either or both 9mm and .223. The rig is made so the gun can be fired braced, i.e. without removing it [thus quickly] similar to the function of the MP5K rig. You don't have to unsnap the rig to fire the gun. It's really neat to play with....and these work right or left handed. Don't forget to specify whether UZI full-size (carbine) or Mini UZI and the fullsize fits the semi-auto UZI.

The CEO of DeSantis Holsters and Leathergoods told me the following:
"As soon as the US Secret Sservice sent me an UZI on a form 5, I began to design the rig with input from the head CAT guys (COUNTER ASSAULT TEAM). I believe that I can take credit for having designed the first factory made shoulder rig for strong side carry of a sub gun. The notion is a common one today, but mine was history's first. I quickly followed up the UZI rig with the Mac Scatter and other versions. (See Invasion USA with Chuck Norris. He used a double Mac rig in this movie. It was a really cool sight).

Our rigs are not just a novelty, they also serve as a good shooting brace from the holstered position. The original UZI rig added the muzzle retainer for the guys who stood post with the UZI. The barrel/muzzle retainer took some of the UZI's weight and delivered it to the belt, thus allowing more time at post with less fatigue."

Note also the uzi-briefcase in the street. My understanding is that there was never an "operational" uzi briefcase. Anyone with information to the contrary: please email me.
